SALVO FERRARA

My passion for music was born with me: I remember that as a child, I listened every day to an old radio that played hits of the time, as well as a lot of opera music that my father adored. I had developed a certain predilection for low frequencies, manipulating the radio’s tone control to exclude the high frequencies… it was certainly a foretaste of my future studies.
A little over ten years old, I began studying piano, and three years later I was performing (so to speak…) at folk festivals and assorted trashy events. I have very fond memories of that period because I was a “picciriddo” following instrumentalists many years older than me… a sort of mascot.
At fifteen, I had a revelation: I accidentally discovered the trendiest music of the time: the Police.

I started researching and listening to everything that was unthinkable to produce in Italy (remember that in 1973, at the time of the release of “The Dark Side of the Moon,” “Fin che la barca va, lasciala andare” sung by Orietta Berti was the hit song in Italy).
Mozart overlaps with Genesis, Chopin goes for a stroll with Yes… and so on!
